Rose Anne Meisenheimer, 89, of Greenfield

Funeral Services: Will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery. Coffee and Bars will be served at the church following the services at the cemetery. Pastor David Kincaide will officiate the service.

Open Visitation: Friends may call at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Rose Anne Meisenheimer memorial fund to be established by the family.

Rose Anne Meisenheimer was born September 27, 1930, in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Mary (Burd) Lee. She passed away on November 8, 2019, at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 89.

Rose Anne spent her childhood in Winterset, Iowa, and graduated from Winterset High School. She married Howard Welch and they moved to Adair County and started their family. They had three daughters Deb, Kathy and Julie. She married Dean Meisenheimer in 1956 and they had three more children, Dean Alan, Lori and Daryl.

Other than her childhood spent in Winterset, Rose Anne lived most of her life in Greenfield. Most of her time was spent raising her children and caring for her family, though she did work part time at Piper’s Variety in Greenfield for a few years. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and Cub Scout den leader when her kids were young. She volunteered with the Red Cross blood drive, and was treasurer for Presbyterian Women. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and often had them stay at her house.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dean in 2017; her parents; son Dean Alan Meisenheimer, son-in-law, Dale Jameson; daughter-in-law, Susan Meisenheimer; granddaughters Danielle Cherry and Nyssa Meisenheimer; brother Charles Lee; brother-in-law Dallas Meisenheimer and his wife Lucille, and brother-in-law Ted Meisenheimer.

She is survived by her children, Deb Jameson of Fontanelle, Kathy Hagen (Bruce) of Columbia Falls, MT, Julie Pernu (Robert) of Polk City, IA, Lori Armstrong (Scott) of Greenfield and Daryl Meisenheimer (Jenny) of Houston, TX; 12 grandchildren, Angie Jameson, Jeff Jameson, Ben Jameson, Travis Armstrong, Tyson Armstrong, Spring Thompson, Barry Hagen, Kaili Hagan, Nevin Meisenheimer, Sarah Meisenheimer and Paris Meisenheimer; 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Jeri Lee; grandson-in-law, Kevin Cherry; other relatives and friends.
