EARL SMITH RITES HELD AT MACKSBURG

Funeral services for Earl Smith of near Macksburg were held Tuesday, Dec. 14, from the Macksburg Methodist church. Mr. Smith's death had occurred at Memorial hospital in Winterset on Sunday, Dec. 12, after several years of failing health He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Smith was born in the Pleasantview community, near Macksburg, in 1878, a son of Orris and Eliza Smith. In 1900 he was married to Anna Hillberry of Macksburg. Their entire married life was spent on a farm two miles from Macksburg.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Kenneth Smith of Orient and Clifford Smith of Macksburg; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Tom Smith of Winterset; and two sisters, Mrs. Inez Decker of Haxton, Colo., and Mrs. Ollie Bond of Winterset.
