Diane Sawyers (61), of Winterset, passed away on Monday October 14th, 2019 in Winterset. Diane was born on May 27th, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Margaret (Peggy) Robinson. Diane attended Ralston High School and graduated in 1976. Per Diane’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. The family will have a private event at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations and memorials can be made to the family for later designation.

Diane married Bruce Sawyers on July 18th, 1992 in Winterset. Diane worked for many years in the medical field as a transcriptionist. Most recently she was a shuttle driver with the VA Central Iowa Health Care System. This job was a passion for her, and she felt it was an honor to help with the Veterans. Diane was a lover of the outdoors whether it be camping, traveling, riding her motorcycle, helping on the farm, tending to her chickens or working in the garden. She was a religious Chicago Cubs fan and faithfully watched or listened to the games. Diane never missed an opportunity to express her love of music, especially karaoke. She completely adored and always spoiled her grandchildren. Diane loved to cook for her family and friends, with roast and potatoes a family tradition on many holidays.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Margaret Robinson and mother-in-law Betty Sawyers.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bruce Sawyers; children, Tara (Jared) McDonald and Kylee (Curtis) Barber of Winterset and her beloved dog/son Chuck; grandchildren, Sawyer and Charla McDonald, Beckett and GraceRyan Barber; father-in-law Keith Sawyers; 2 brothers, Keith (Virgina) and Don (Bev), a sister Donna, brothers-in-law, Doug (Ann) and Mark (Chris), nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
