Word has been received here of the death of Frank Violet on April 9th, 1932, at his home at Tacoma, Washington. He was the son of J. Q. Violet who for many years lived on a farm in the northern part of Jefferson township, which is now owned by Herman Marquardt. Frank Violet with his brother Alonso moved to the south part of Jefferson township in the spring of 1880. His brother died some time later in that year. The former was the father of Dewey Violet. H. A. Mueller writes as follows of him:
“Mr. Violet met Miss Helen Currier of near St. Charles and they were married in Winterset, May 8, 1880, driving nine miles in a spring wagon, drawn by a horse and mule. After their marriage they lived in Iowa for a time, moving to Nebraska, then to Colorado and later to Canada. From Canada they went to Puyallup, Washington. Two years ago they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Their four children, and her brother Eugene who was present at the wedding were with them on that occasion. Her brother died June 11th following, and Mrs. Violet July 4, 1930. Two of the children live in Canada, and two near Tacoma, Washington. Mr. Violet had been ill and suffering for several months before his death.
