Winterset, IowaSteve Kirk, 61, of Winterset died Thursday, June 6, 2019 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, at Steve’s home. Memorials may be directed to the family and online condolences can be left at caldwellparrish.com
Steven Travis Kirk, son of Max and Patricia (Travis) Kirk, was born August 1, 1957 in Winterset. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1976 and continued his education obtaining an Auto Body Degree from SWCC. Steve worked as a commercial painter for most of his working career.
Steve enjoyed to fish and deer hunt in his free time. His beverages of choice were Busch Light and Crown Royal. He enjoyed going to the casino. Most of all, he was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend who cherished nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.
Steve is survived by his fiancé, Risé Drake of Winterset; sons, Travis (Klarisa) Kirk of Elizabethtown, KY; Dustin Kirk of Corning; other children, David (Michelle) Drake of Redfield, Lacey (Trent ) Byler of Indianola; Samantha Wright of Winterset; grandchildren, Annabell, Tristan, Mason, Cael, Spencer, Trenton, Zane, Blake, Xavier, Zander, GJ, and Gunner; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Powers (who raised him) and parents, Max and Patricia (Travis) Kirk.
