Donna B. Dudney

Donna Dudney, 75, of Lorimor died May 29, 2019 at the Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday June 1, at Caldwell Parrish Winterset Chapel with a funeral service to immediately follow beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Lorimor Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to EveryStep Hospice.

Donna Bell Dudney, daughter of Don and Florence (Rector) Betts, was born August 7, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines. She continued her education and obtained a Certified Nurse’s Aide license. Donna was united in marriage with Gary Dudney on October 27, 1984 in Winterset, Iowa.

Donna worked as a nurse’s aide for the Madison County Memorial Hospital and area nursing homes. Her caring personality brought smiles to all the patients she worked with. Donna was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed crocheting. She loved interior decorating and always had house projects she was working on. She liked tending to her flower and vegetable garden and always shared the produce. Donna had a special place in her heart for animals, especially for horses and dogs. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished the time spent with the ones she loved.

Donna is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gary Dudney of Lorimor, four children, Allan Searl of Winterset; Donita Stewart of Atlantic; Robin Searl of Lorimor; Monica (Randy) Duffe of Wilton; step-children, Alison (Jeff) Dudney Coffman; Chisum (Talena) Dudney; brother, Larry (Dottie) Betts of Newton; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Florence Betts and a grandson, Jacob Stewart.
