Services for Bernice J. Holm, 71, Winterset, who died Dec. 2 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Dec. 5 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Washington Lutheran Cemetery at Duncombe, Iowa, and officiating there was the Rev. Robert Foster.

Born at Duncombe on Dec. 25, 1916, she was the daughter of Thomas and Minnie Mickelson Ness. She was a homemaker and also a cook for the school.

She was married to Luther Holm on Aug. 25, 1934 at Webster City. She had lived here since 1954, coming from Eagle Grove.

Survivors include her husband of Winterset; a son, Lennis Holm of Hollywood, Calif.; daughters, Lois Thul of Eagle Grove and Linda Collins of Des Moines; a brother, Sam Ness of Duncombe; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
