Gervice Ozelle Cannon, 82, of Winterset, died of complication of renal failure Dec. 8. 1997 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Pastor John Shaull will officiate the service, and burial will follow at the Indianola City Cemetery in Indianapolis, Miss.
She was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Choctaw County, Miss., to Albert and Minnie (Cummings) Mitchell. On July 3, 1969, she married C.C. Cannon in Indianola, Miss. She had previously married Herman Farish who died in 1967. She was a homemaker and was also employed at the Greenville Mills in Greenville, Miss. for a number of years as a carpet repair person. She lived in Greenville and Indianola, Miss. before moving to Winterset in 1974. She later lived in Greenfield from 1978 to 1990 before moving back to Winterset. She was a former member of several Women's Clubs, and also the First Baptist Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parent's; her first husband; and three sisters.
Surviving relatives include her husband, C.C. Cannon of Winterset; two daughters, Robbie Neal of Lighthouse Point, Fla., Sandra Callison of Winterset; one son, Gene Farish of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Winterset.
