Jimmy Earl Cassady, 65, of Newton, Iowa formerly of the Earlham/Redfield area passed away, April 15, 2019 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Dexter Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service in Panther Creek Cemetery, rural Adel, Iowa Memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Cassady Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Jimmy was born July 30, 1953 in Winterset, Iowa to Earl and Bonnie (Stonehocker) Cassady. Jimmy grew up in Earlham, Iowa and graduated from Winterset High School with the class of 1972. Jimmy was united in marriage to Mary Jean Belew in December of 1977 in Earlham and together they lived in in Earlham and Redfield until making their home in Newton where they have lived for the past 20 years. Jimmy was employed at Glen-Gery Brick Plant in Redfield for 27 plus years before retiring. He enjoyed the outdoors and you could often find Jimmy with a fishing pole in his hands heading off to one of his favorite fishing holes or playing with his dog. Jimmy also enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bonnie Cassady; sister, Bonnie Kay Belew and one sister-in-law, Sherri Cassady.

Jimmy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Mary Cassady; children, Michael and Eric Cassady and Kimberly (Scott) Patten; grandchildren, Troy, Katrina, Kayden, Nichole, Ian, Levi, Abagail, Angela and Chloe; siblings, Betty (Larr) Stahl, Larry Cassady, Danny (Kandy) Cassady, Gary (Nancy) Cassady, Dolly Raynor, Leslie Cassady and Ricky Cassady and a host of other relatives and friends all of whom will miss him greatly.
