Henry Ambrose Jackson (Wes), son of Nelson and Almira Jackson, was born May 8, 1875 at Guthrie Center and died at his home in Des Moines at 4 a.m., June 17, 1937, at the age of 61 years. Stricken with a paralytic stroke, he lived only a few hours.
Most of his life had been spent in and around Winterset. He was married to Leola Shearer of Patterson, September 23, 1900.
Twelve children were born to them and two dying in infancy. He leaves his wife and children, Mrs. Edith Knott of Hedrick; Eugene, Mrs. Minnie Withers, Clair, Verl, Helen and Glenn, all of Des Moines; Mrs Fern Hawk of Harper; Merl and Leonard of Sigourney; five brothers, five sisters and nine grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Church of Christ by pastor, the Rev. H.L. Olmstead. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
