The funeral services for Mrs. E. Gilbert were held at the Methodist church on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. D. Summerbell and burial was made in the Moon cemetery. Mrs. Gilbert died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dave Butts.

Page 1, Column 5Mrs. Alpha Gilbert Died Yesterday at Home in Adair County
Mrs. Alpha Gilbert, 68, died at 11:15 o’clock yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Butts of Orient. She and her husband, Ezra, who survives, made their home with Mrs. Butts in Union township of Adair county.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist church in Macksburg and burial will be in Macksburg cemetery.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Etta McMillion of Ellston, Mrs. Pearl Davis of Thayer, Mrs. Lulu Reynolds of Newton, Mrs. Lora Green of Thayer, Mrs. Lorna Lauer of Creston and Mrs. Butts, and four sons, Silvester Gilbert of Kellerton, William and Charles Gilbert of Creston, and Glen Gilbert of South Dakota.
