Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Merle Hay Funeral Home for Carl H. Campbell, 79, of 6201 Welker Ave., who died Sunday at home of a heart ailment. Interment will be at the Merle Hay Mausoleum.
Mr. Campbell was born in Macksburg and lived in Des Moines for 39 years. He was a retired taxicab driver, a member of Teamsters Union Local 90, and a 50-year member of the IOOF.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; a son, David of Dacona, Colo.; three daughters, Melba Rhiner and Wilma Fritz, both of West Des Moines, and Ruby A. Garner of Detroit, Mich.; a stepson, Donald Ivins of Leon; a stepdaughter, Lois Hanthorn of Leon; three brothers, Lester of Creston, Glen of Macksburg, and Lennie of Jamestown, N.D.; a sister, Lena Laughlin of Creston; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
