LOIS VERNON

There will be a 1 p.m. service today at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel for Lois Vernon, 73, of 1800 Thirty-sixth St. in West Des Moines, who died of a heart ailment Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Born in Winterset, Mrs. Vernon lived in the West Des Moines area since 1953. She was a retired saleswoman at Younkers.

Survivors include three sons, Robert of Des Moines, Howard of Iowa City and Dorn of Grimes; three daughters, Helen Vaux of Union and Shirley Berry and Rita Pratt, both of Des Moines; three brothers, Raymond Boyd of Winterset, Loren Boyd of Saydel and J. Clair Boyd of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home.
