ALTA M. SEWARD FUNERAL HERE

Death of Former Resident Occurred Sunday in Oklahoma

Mrs. Alta M. Seward, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died Sunday, Nov. 6, at Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was 82 years of age.

Mrs. Seward was the former Mrs. Elvin J. Tilton of this community. Mr. Tilton died in 1943 and she later married Charles Seward at Muskogee. He also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Seward was a daughter of William and Mary Ann Davis Weeks, and was born in Madison county July 10, 1884. Sixty-four years of her life was spent in Madison county, and the last 18 years in Oklahoma. She was a member of the Christian church.

Nearest surviving relatives are two sisters. Mrs. May Pinckney and Mrs. Blanche Powers, both of Winterset. She also leaves three nieces, Mrs. Ila Burcham of Burbank, Calif, Mrs. Mary Marshall of Omaha and Mrs. Mary Pope of Winterset; and four nephews, Albert Weeks of Seal Beach, Calif., Kenneth Weeks of Burbank, Calif., William Weeks of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Glen Weeks of Keoskia, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this Thursday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. William E. Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
