On Friday, December 21st, 2018, Pamela Sue (Mapes) Boryca of Huxley, 66, passed away in her home of natural causes. Pam was born in Winterset, Iowa, on October 16th, 1952.
She graduated from Ballard High School in 1970 and went on to Barbizon School of Modeling in Hawaii. Pam later earned a degree in small business management from Des Moines Area Community College in 1998. She held a variety of positions and also enjoyed giving her time by volunteering in various capacities. Most recently Pam was a board member and peer liaison for the NAMI of Central Iowa.
Pam was a caring and generous person who gave of her time and resources and would always lend an ear to listen to anybody in need. In the last two years, she had become active in the Trinity Methodist Church community. In 2018 Pam made a commitment to the Lord through baptism.
Pam is preceded in death by her father Russell Mapes, mother Viola Mapes (DeBok), brother Steve Mapes, and niece Stefany Nalepa and nephew Ryder Mapes. She is survived by sister Judy McMullen (Steve) of Virginia; daughter Brenda Brandenburg (Jeff) of Iowa; daughter Tracy Steele (Charlie) of Iowa; four granddaughters Ashlynn (5), Viola (3), Livonia (11 months), and Leona (7 months). Along with three nieces Kathy Henderson, Melissa Webster, and Casey Mapes.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering held Sunday December 30th from 2-4 pm at Trinity Methodist Church, 102 Lynwood Drive, Huxley, Iowa.
