Winterset, IowaTerry D. Davenport, 61, of St. Charles went to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by family Monday, December 17, 2018 at his home.
A visitation will be held from 10 am to 12 pm, Saturday, December 22, at Calvary Baptist Church, St. Charles, where his family will receive friends. Funeral services will begin at 12 pm with a luncheon to follow. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church and online condolences can be left for the family at Ochiltree.com.
Terry Dwayne Davenport, son of Terry and Kae (Franklin) Davenport, was born July 20, 1957, in Des Moines. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Lein on November 17, 1974, in Des Moines. Terry worked as a brick mason and distribution manager in construction supplies for 24 years. He was currently working at Ace Hardware in Norwalk.
Terry enjoyed woodworking and making wood toys and crosses. He was also an outdoorsman who loved to fish, especially for bass and trout in northeast Iowa. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandad, brother and friend who cherished nothing more than spending time with the ones he loved.
Terry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy Davenport of St. Charles; two children, Jeremy (Rita) Davenport of Boone and Lacie (Shane) Campbell of Murdo, SD; his parents, Terry and Kae Davenport of Humeston; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Brandon and Joshua Davenport, Jeoran Churchill, Chelssy (Alec) Veatch, Cassie, Owen, Isaac and Hannah Campbell; one great grandchild on the way; one brother, Dean (Georgie) Davenport of Centerville and one sister, Kim Davenport of Des Moines; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father and mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a nephew.
