February 7, 1953 - November 13, 2018

Sheryl Mitchell, 65, of Creston, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Road Side Bar and Grill in Arispe, Ia.

Private family burial will be at Moon Cemetery in rural Macksburg, Ia. at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Sheryl Ann Mitchell was born February 7, 1953 in Guthrie County, Iowa, daughter of Doris Nadene (Gilbert) Mitchell and Washington Irven “Murph” Mitchell. She lived on various farms in Guthrie County until moving to a farm in Dodge Township of Union County in 1969. Sheryl graduated from East Union High School in 1971.

On July 10, 1971, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston Sheryl was united in marriage to Pat Kerrigan. They settled in the Afton and Creston areas where she began working as a cook at East Union Schools. They were later divorced.

On May 30, 1998 Sheryl was united in marriage to Rick Harrell in Thayer, Ia. Sheryl continued working at the East union Schools retiring in 2007. They were later divorced. Sheryl was a member of the Wednesday Afton Purple Cow Coffee Club.

Sheryl is survived by her son Jeremy (wife Candace) Kerrigan of Afton, Ia.; daughter, Shawn (husband Brent) Boss of Centerton, Ark.; three brothers, Jim (Cheryl) Mitchell of Creston, Bob (Karla) Mitchell of Afton and Keith (Karen) Mitchell of Thayer; one sister, Judy McCarthy of Afton; five grandchildren, Tate and Chloe Kerrigan and Madeline, Isabella and Amelia Boss; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donnie Mitchell.
