Bryan Daniel McDonald, son of Leonard and Dixie (Lucas) McDonald, was born May 14, 1962 in Winterset, Iowa. He attended schools in the area and graduated from Winterset High in 1981. He was united in marriage to Debbie Watts and two children, Nicole and Tyson, were born to this union. Bryan was later united in marriage with Jamie Lyons on May 24, 2008 at Pammel Park near Winterset.

Bryan worked as a lineman for the City of Winterset for 12 years. He later worked for Vance & Hochstetler Consulting and farmed with his son and Jim Hochstetler in Madison County. Farming was his true passion. Bryan loved raising animals and was especially talented working with the cattle. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors in his free time. Bryan and Jamie enjoyed traveling to see family and recently to Yellowstone National Park. Bryan was the kind of man who was always willing to lend a hand when someone was in need, but rarely asked for help himself. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and friends. Above all else, Bryan was a devoted husband, father, Papa, son, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Jamie McDonald of Winterset; mother, Dixie McDonald of Winterset; two children, Nichole (Jake) Floyd of Winterset; Tyson (Mariah) McDonald of Winterset; two bonus children, Breanna (Zach) Bruett of Winterset; Jake Reeves of Winterset; five grandchildren, Garrett Floyd; Sadie Songer; Kaylee Songer; Allison Bruett; Henry Bruett; four siblings, Bob (Marcia) McDonald of Texas; Jay (Frenchie) McDonald of Minnesota; Shelly (Brian) Gambrall of Colorado; Sheryl (Brad) Hayes of Winterset; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kale and Lela Lucas; Wallace and Gladys McDonald, father, Leonard McDonald; and a grandson, Alec Floyd.
