James F. Dowler Rites Set Friday

Funeral services for James Frederick Dowler, 72, late of Evansville, are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Friday from the Bustard Funeral Home.

Mr. Dowler died Tuesday evening at Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1892 at St, Charles, Iowa and was reared and schooled in Iowa before coming to Wyoming in 1909.

He married Miss Gladys Mae Dodds, Oct. 28, 1917. During his first years in Wyoming, Mr. Dowler worked at ranching and as a blacksmith in Chugwater. In 1936 he moved his family to Riverton where he continued to work as a blacksmith.

In 1942 he came to Casper to take employment with the Great Lakes Carbon Co. He stayed with the company until the time of his death.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Casper.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys, of the family home; three sons, Ray Dowler, Larry Dowler and Jack Dowler, all of Casper; two daughters, Mrs. Leona Brannan of Evansville, and Mrs. Eva Perkins of Riverton; five brothers, Earl Dowler and Art Dowler, both of Casper, Walter Dowler of Cheyenne, Hugh Dowler of Valley, Neb., and Lloyd Dowler of Fresno, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Ina Sims and Mrs. Martha Redburn, both of Casper, Mrs. Hallie Olson of Cheyenne, and Mrs. Fern Cloonam of Agate, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. Two sons preceded Mr. Dowler in death.
