September 6th, 1970 - September 12th, 2018Mark Kemery, 48, of Earlham (formerly of Lenox) passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
A visitation with be held from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 14, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A funeral service will held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 15, at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in the Lenox Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Mark Daniel Kemery was born September 6, 1970 at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, the son of Daniel and Linda (Hughes) Kemery. He graduated from Lenox High School in 1989. On January 2, 1994, he married Elayne Schutt from New Market, Iowa, during a snowstorm.
In 1990, Mark graduated from SWCC in Creston, completing the Auto Body Repair course. Mark moved to Winterset where he worked for Winterset Auto until they closed. He later worked for Holmes Honda, Billon Auto in Des Moines and lastly for Willis Auto in Clive. Thanks to Willis Auto all the great support you gave Mark!
Mark was a hard worker. He enjoyed spending his time tinkering on anything with an engine and took “great pleasure” fixing all the things Elayne and Katie broke on the acreage. Mark was a homebody and enjoyed just sitting under the Maples drinking cheap beer. He also loved animals, especially his dogs. Above all else, Mark cherished time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.
Mark is survived by his wife, Elayne Kemery of Earlham; daughter, Katherine (Clark) Newbury of Winterset; mother, Linda (Hughes) Kemery of Lenox; brother, Matthew (Danelle) Kemery of Lenox; nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel “Danny” Kemery in 1978.
