CARL W. JAMES

Carl W. James, 88, of 4140 Grand Ave. died of a stroke Wednesday at his home. He had been ill a year.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. James, born in Fremont, Neb., lived in Des Moines 36 years. He was a retired hotel custodian.

Surviving are a son, Doyle; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Goff and Mrs. V. Ellen Kendall, both of Des Moines; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
