Patrick Breheny was born in Ireland in March 1846. He left Ireland at the age of 19 years. He spent six years in Europe and came to the United States 71 years ago. He married Mary Ellen Barrett who came to the United States from Canada, when she was very young. She was born in January 1858.

Mr. and Mrs. Breheny were parents of eleven children: Mary “Mae” Smith, Margaret Lydon, Francis Breheny, William Brehemy, Agnes “Aggie” Miller, John Breheny, Dominic “Don” Brehey, James, Patrick T. and Thomas Breheny and Anne Ward.

They lived at Earlham, Iowa, and moved later to the Stuart area. They purchased land south of Casey. Later in life they retired to Casey.
