Alice R. Smith Rites Wednesday

Services for Mrs. Alice R. Smith. 88, of 910 Thirtieth st., will be at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Hamilton funeral home. Burial will be in Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Smith died of arteriosclerosis Sunday at the Stuart Nursing home in Altoona.

Born in Rock Island county, Ill., she was a Des Moines resident 37 years, previously living in Winterset 13 years. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are three sons, Clark of San Francisco, Cal., Ralph of Okmulgee, Okla., and Ivan, in Saudi-Arabia; five daughters Mrs. Mable Rice of Pasadena. Cal., Mrs. Ruth Gamble of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Myrte Stone, Mrs. Esther Martens and Mrs. Mary Richardson, all of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Hetu, Clifton, Kan., and Mrs Mary Wilkinson, Telluride, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
