William Lee “Bill” Tripp, son of Larry L. Tripp and Darla M. (Nichols) Jenks was born April 25, 1962 in Winterset, Iowa and passed from this life suddenly, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa at 56 years of age.

Bill graduated from East Union High School. He was united in marriage to Karla Sue Taylor on October 16, 1982 in Osceola, Iowa and two children blessed this union. Most recently, Bill was a heavy equipment operator for Schildburg Construction Company.

Bill was a hardworking, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan, loved music but especially enjoyed listening to rock & roll, watching movies, and was an animal lover. He rescued stray cats from the quarry he worked at and took them home. He enjoyed his cats, Bob, Simba, and Little Miss and loyal dog, Bandit. His favorite pastime was spending time with the love of his life, his “Queenie,” taking short road trips and listening to music together while reminiscing. He enjoyed every minute he had with his grandchildren, Cooper and Jordin aka his “Silly Monkeys.” He loved the tradition of road trips, with no destination. He cherished the tradition of 70’s Saturday nights with Karla and the kids. Taking off, listening to 70s and 80s songs following wherever the road led. He loved the vacations to South Dakota and Door County Wisconsin with them.

Karla and Bill took several vacations to Colorado with their best friends Shawn and Deb McDowell. The quiet beauty, low humidity, pet chipmunks and watching Shawn do his Sho Shawn cooking feats were the highlights. The air was cool, the company incredible and the laughter, abundant. He was never happier, than when in that place. Bill had an infectious smile, a laugh that everyone loved, and a heart of gold.

Those relatives who preceded Bill in death were his father, Larry Tripp, and brother, Bobby Tripp.

Bill leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Karla Tripp of Osceola, IA, son, Joshua Tripp of Van Wert, IA, daughter, Lindsay (Nathan) Stanford of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren, Cooper and Jordin Tripp; mother, Darla (Donavon Harrison) Jenks of Lorimor, IA; brother, Jerry Tripp of Lorimor, IA; grandkitties Gingy, Dolly, and Mitzy as well as other relatives and many friends.

Casual attire is requested and show your Iowa Hawkeye support.

Memorial contributions may be directed to his family for a fitting tribute to be decided at a later date.
