William Joseph McLaughlin, 88, Belmond died Tuesday at the Heritage Home in Clarion where he and his wife had lived since August. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at St. Francis Catholic church in Belmond.
Surviving are his wife Catherine and seven sons and three daughters, Mrs. Don Hocraffer of Clarion is one of the daughters.

BELMOND – William Joseph McLaughlin, 88, died Tuesday at the Heritage Home in Clarion where he and his wife had lived since August. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the St. Francis Catholic Church. The Rosary will be said Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Fulton Funeral Home in Belmond.
Born June 24, 1875, he was married Nov. 21, 1900, to Catherine DeHeck. They farmed southwest of Belmond from 1920 until retiring in 1945.
Surviving are his wife, seven sons, William Jr., Swaledale, Mike, John, Eugene, Edward, Vernon and James, all of Belmond; three daughters, Mrs. Winston (Katherine) Weber, Odessa, Wash.; Mrs. Don (Loyola) Hocroffer, Clarion; Mrs. Lawrence (Margaret) Uthe, Denver, Colo.; 46 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
