JOHN MUSSELMAN, BLAIRSBURG, DIES

John McLain Musselman, 80, long time resident of Blairsburg, died at 6 o’clock this morning at his home in Blairsburg. He had been ill the past six weeks.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Foster funeral home in Webster City with the Rev. R. N. Culbertson officiating. Burial will be at the Blairsburg cemetery.

John M. Musselman, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Musselman, was born December 19, 1875 on a farm near St. Charles, Iowa. He was reared and educated in the St. Charles community and he was united in marriage to Lola Devine, and to this union two sons were born, Charlie and Carl Musselman.

He later moved to Des Moines and was united in marriage to Laura Clark and to this union one son and two daughters were born, Ray Musselman, Leona and Lillian.

He was later united in marriage on May 6, 1938 to Ruby Ellen Stiles. The couple made their home in Des Moines where Mr. Musselman was employed by the Goodwin Brick and Tile Co. Later in 1938 they moved to Blairsburg where he engaged in farming. He retired from farming about four years ago.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters and three sons, a step-son, Ralph Trotter of Blairsburg.

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, his parents, two sisters and one half-brother.
