CIMARRON — Walter W. King, 75, longtime resident of Cimarron, died Saturday night in a rest home in Liberal. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He was born Feb. 26, 1885, in Madison County, Iowa, and in 1907 came to the Ensign community. He farmed there until 1914, when he moved back to Iowa. In 1924 he moved back to Ensign, and in 1930 moved to Cimarron, where he worked as a carpenter. He was married to Blanche Travis Oct. 9 in Ensign.
Surviving him are the widow, a son, Howard Wayne, Cimarron; three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Buff, Mrs. Mary Culbreath, both of Wichita, Doris King, Los Angeles; a brother Perry, St. Charles, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Corkill, Waukegan, Ill., Mrs Zella Powers, Indianola, Iowa, Mrs. Nella Ines, St. Charles, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Cimarron, Rev. William Wilkoss officiating. Burial will be in the Ensign cemetery.
