Page 5, Column 2Charles B. Gard, 65, of Urbandale died of complications of a neurological disorder Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. The body was cremated, and memorial services were held Sept. 15 at Brooks Funeral Care.
Charles Gard was born in Marshalltown and had lived in Des Moines and Earlham before moving to Urbandale 23 years ago. He was a retired finance manager and loved watching movies and listening to country music.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; a son, Steven of Adel; two daughters, Becky Weathers and Karen Gard, both of Des Moines; three sisters, Arlene Roberts of Webb City, Mo., Dorothy Hammer of Orange Park, Fla., and Mary Gard of Marshalltown; two brothers, Jerry of Spencer and Carson of Marshalltown; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
