Funeral services were held in Littleton, Colorado last Thursday, February 27 for John F. Givan, a Madison County area native. Mr. Givan died Friday, February 21 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver. He was 55 years of age.
John Franklin Givan was born at rural Lorimor on August 24, 1919, the son of R. Lloyd and Rose Sawyer Givan. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1937, and was married in 1940 to Rosemary Schirm.
A veteran of World War II Mr. Givan moved to Denver in 1951. At the time of his death, he was a member of the fire department at the Denver Federal Center.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; a son, Rev. Aaron L. Givan of Harper, Kansas; and a daughter, Sharon Brown of Denver. Also surviving are four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rex Haymond of Winterset; and four brothers: E. Louis Givan of Winterset, Robert D. Givan of Burlington, Colorado, Lyle L. Givan of Bennett, Colorado, and David Givan of Littleton, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services were held at the Drinkwine Chapel of Peace last Thursday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. with burial at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
