Helen Beverlin

HERSCHIER — Helen Beverlin, 85, Herscher, passed away Monday (Dec. 17, 2012) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.

Her service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Herscher, followed by an interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. A time of gathering will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes, Herscher Chapel, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of Kankakee Valley would be appreciated.

Helen was born Feb. 3, 1927 in Bethlehem, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Stella Hart. On Oct. 20, 1946, in Peru, Iowa, she married Jack Beverlin. He preceded her in death.

Helen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Herscher, Martha Circle, enjoyed cooking, and most especially loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Helen is survived by her children, Craig (Joan) Beverlin, Kennewick, Wash.; Pam (J.R.) Matern, Herscher; and Patrice (Rick) Parker, Dwight; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother and a sister, both of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her parents.
