Loretta Richards, 58, was born in Madison County near Booneville. She spent the greater part of her life in Des Moines, coming to the Adel community eight years ago.

She was a graduate of Waukee High School and attended Simpson College, taught school in Dallas Co., and has been employed at Younkers in Des Moines.

Her death occurred last Friday from cancer at Methodist Hospital. Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 12 at St. John’s Catholic Church with interment at Booneville Cemetery. A rosary was held Monday night at Fisher Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband, Russell and daughter, Connie of Adel; her mother, Mae Shiffer of Des Moines; a brother, George Gresham of Albuquerque, N. Mex.; five sisters, Kathryn Aldrich of Redfield; Winifred Viggers, Marguerite Gee and Frances Tiernan of Des Moines, and Lois Poole of West Des Moines.
