Mrs. A. W. O’Hara Funeral Services Held Thursday

Mrs. A. W. O’Hara, 51, who has been in failing health for two years, passed away Monday evening at 8:35 o’clock at her home, 751 East Park street, death being caused by cancer.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at two o’clock at the Cobb funeral home. Rev. G. R. Siemens, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Siemens and Miss Edna Halstrom. The body was laid to rest in Riverside cemetery.

Clara Diggs was born August 1, 1884, at Winterset, Iowa. She spent her girlhood days there and attended the Winterset schools. Her marriage to Mr. O’Hara also took place in that city in May of 1909. The couple left for Luverne, Iowa, in Kossuth county, to make their new home. They have been residents of Spencer for 12 years during two different residence periods.

Mrs. O’Hara joined the Methodist church at Winterset following her marriage.

Surviving Mrs. O’Hara are her husband, Mr. O’Hara; a son, Lloyd, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Maynard (Elizabeth) O’Hara of Everly; nine grandchildren, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard O’Hara; a sister, Mrs. Alta Handy of Spencer; four brothers, George, William and Robert Diggs of Winterset and Leonard Diggs of Des Moines.

Robert Diggs arrived Wednesday, and the other brothers were expected Thursday.
