Edson M. Light, 69, of 300 Tracy, died Sunday at the Brothers of Mercy Extended Care Facility. He was born in Winterset Iowa, and had lived here most of his life.
Mr. Edson was a barber before he retired in 1969. He was a Methodist.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Georgia Light, 5545 N.W. Meadowvale; three sons, Paul Light, 10 N.E. 61st; Leonard Light, 5545 N. W. Meadowvale, and Jack Light, Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Greenlee, Pittsburg, Kan.; a brother, George Light, Buena Vista, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Parker, Kansas City, and Mrs. Helen Phillips, Overland Park; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be a 7 p.m. tonight at the Floral Hills Chapel; cremation. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
