Funeral Services: Will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Orient United Methodist Church following the burial at the cemetery. Pastor Cathy Nutting will officiate the service.

Open Visitation: Will be held on Tuesday, June 12th, at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the Creston Specialty Care or the The American Cancer Society.

Maxine Ruth Platt Hoepker was born June 6 1926 to Edward and Julia (Lowe) Platt. Maxine was born at home in rural Macksburg, IA. She passed away June 9th at Greater Regional hospital in Creston, IA. at the age of 92.

Maxine attended country school and graduated high school from Macksburg.

On February 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Hoepker. To this union one son, Don, was born.

Maxine lived and farmed with Kenneth in Madison County from 1946 until 1954. Where they then farmed for many years in Adair County. Maxine continued to stay active on the farm after the passing of Kenneth, raising chickens, mowing grass and gardening.

Maxine was a member of the Hill of Zion church where she was organist for many years.

Maxine enjoyed camping, playing the organ and piano and her small egg business.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Paul Platt and one sister Hazel Hardin and her husband Kenneth.

Maxine is survived by her son Don Hoepker and wife Kim of rural Orient, three grandchildren, Brenda Mahan and husband Chad of rural Creston, Kristin Hoepker and fiancé Ben Dorrance of Waukee, Mark Hoepker and wife Danielle of rural Orient. Four great grandchildren Kendra and Josie Mahan, Cora Kannas and Carter Peterson. Maxine was loved deeply by her family, and just as deeply, Maxine loved her family.
