Page 4Hattie Kenyon Dies At 89 Years
Mrs. Hattie M. Kenyon, who had been making her home here with her daughter, Mrs. Grace Lafferty. died Thursday, May 3, at the age of 89 years. Mrs. Kenyon was of Wisconsin, where she was born at Spring Green on Aug. 2, 1872, a daughter of James and Nina Coon, when she was four years. ago she came to Iowa with her parents, making the trip in a covered wagon. They settled on a farm near Correctionville.
She was married Dec. 31, 1891, in Ida Grove to John H. Kenyon. Their life was spent in farming near Correctionville and Cedar Rapids until 1938, when her husband retired and they into, Correctionville. Mr. Kenyon died ln 1951. In 1953, Mrs. Kenyon came to Wintered to be with her daughter and granddaughters.
Surviving Is the daughter, Mrs. Lafferty of Winterset; two granddaughters, Mrs. Geneva Hougham of Earlham and Margie Lafferty of Winterset; and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Wilson-Hull Funeral homes in Correctionville, conducted by the Rev. Louis Ferguson. Burial was made in the Correctionville cemetery
