Burlingame, California | Age 95

Robert D. Roby, 95 years, passed peacefully on May 13, 2018. A resident of Burlingame, he is survived by his devoted wife of 10 years, Peggy. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Mary Anne, he leaves his children Linda, Bill, Diane (Tony), Sue (and Ross), stepdaughter Geni (and Jim), grandchildren Wendy (and Patrick), Mark, Ross, Jonathan (and Kate), and Austin, great-granddaughter Kristina, Gabriele and Konrad Thuernau, and many other beloved members of his extended families.

Born on the family farm in Madison County, Iowa, he served in the Army Air Force during WWII, spent a year in Quito, Ecuador, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in Political Science from Creighton University. A retired Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he personified the FBI motto of "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity."

He was an energetic man who lived a long, happy, healthy life. He was always surrounded with people who loved him and enjoyed his wit and his song for every occasion. He will be profoundly missed.

Rosary Sunday, May 20, 4pm at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1310 Bayswater Ave., Burlingame CA 94010. Mass of Christian burial Monday May 21, 10am, followed by interment at Skylawn Cemetery. Donations in Robert's memory may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church for stained-glass window restoration.

Burlingame, CA - Robert D. Roby, 95 years, passed peacefully on May 13, 2018. A resident of Burlingame, CA, he is survived by his devoted wife of 9 years, Peggy. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Mary Anne (nee Pilmaier), he leaves children Linda, Bill, Diane (Tony), Sue (Ross), stepdaughter Geni (Jim), 6 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many beloved friends and members of his extended families.

Born on the family farm in Truro, he served in the Army Air Force during WWII, spent a year in Quito, Ecuador, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Creighton University. A retired Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he personified the FBI motto of "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity." He worked many years for political campaigns in Iowa, particularly Governor Terry Branstad.

He was an energetic man who lived a long, happy, healthy life. He was always surrounded with people who loved him and enjoyed his wit and his song for every occasion. He will be profoundly missed.
