DIED—At her home in Wa-Keeney, April the 14, 1899, Marguerite E. Cox, wife of Allen H. Cox. Age 23 years and 14 day. She leave a husband and infant child to mourn their loss. The deceased was the wife of Allen H. Cox a former resident of this county, now senior editor of the Wakeeney Independent, who has the sympathy of the entire community in this his hour of sad affliction.

Mrs. Allen Cox, wife of the editor of the WaKeeney Independent, died last Friday. Mr. Cox has the sympathy of his editor friends in his great loss.

Mrs. A. H. Cox died last Friday afternoon after an illness of a few days duration. The remains were shipped to Iowa, accompanied by the husband and Commissioner Frakes, where she was laid to rest in the family burying grounds. She leaves a mother, sister, brother, husband and dear little babe in this city to mourn her loss. Mr. Cox has the sympathy of the newspapers of this district in the death of his beloved wife.

Transcriber's note: Per the 1880 census, the deceased was born in Iowa and was the daughter of Michael Wesley Beem who lived in Madison County from about 1855 through about 1878. It is believed that the deceased was born in Madison County but it has not been verified in any documentation.
