Old Resident of County Moved Here From Neola.

Samuel S. Beem, 68, died at his home, 220 North Sixth street, Tuesday at 3:30 p. m. of heart disease.

At the Been-Belford funeral home, where the body was removed. It was announced that funeral services will be held at the residence Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial In Walnut Hill cemetery.

Mr. Beem is survived by the widow, two sons, C. W. Beem, of this city and Marvin Beem of Omaha, and one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Lawsen of Council Bluffs. There are nine children.

Samuel S. Beem to this city in 1912, when he retired from farming, in which he had engaged near Neola since he became of age. He was born in Indiana and came to Pottawattamie county when he was 8 years old.

Funeral services for Samuel F. Beem were held Thursday at the residence, 220 North Sixth street, at 2 p. m., Rev. John E. Rees of the Westminster Presbyterian church officiating. Pallbearers were James Hickey, Frank P. Eckrich, James McCabe, Grant Sweeney, J. N. Cochran and W. H.. Marshall. Burial took place in Walnut hill cemetery.

Transcriber's notes: Transcribed as published, middle initial in second obituary should be "S". Per the 1895 Iowa State Census, the deceased was born in Madison County, Iowa. Per census data his parents located in Madison County in about 1855 and lived there continuously until about 1878.
