Harry Eugene Winship, 64, of Osceola died Saturday, April 4, 1987 at Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines.
Services were held Tuesday, April 7 from the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. The Rev. Neville Clayton of Osceola officiated at the 1:30 p.m. rites. Interment was at Lorimor Cemetery in Lorimor.
Harry Eugene Winship was born September 28, 1922 in Madison County. Son of Harry Enoch Winship and Nettie Young Winship, he attended Union County Schools On March 30, 1943, he married Frances Dix in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Two children were born to this union.
Winship was a farmer and a postal clerk-carrier for 19 years in Osceola before he retired in 1975. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of William Lochrie Post No. 405 at Murray.
Survivors include his wife, Frances of Osceola; one daughter, Sandra Dodson and husband, Virgil of Altoona; one son, Paul Winship and wife, Linda of Osceola; one sister Vivian Winship of Caldwell, Idaho; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Orville and Forrest; and one sister Elizabeth Shields.
