Daniel Aaron Edwards, son of Gary Patterson Edwards and Diane Jane (Riordan) Edwards, was born Nov. 3, 1982, in Des Moines. He passed away near his home in Madison County at the age of 29.
Dan Lived near New Virginia most of his life and graduated from Interstate 35 High School. He was united In marriage to Megan Stanley on May 3, 2006. They lived in the New Virginia area before moving near Truro last year. Dan’s wit was infectious, he laughed at all the appropriate times and he would have you laughing with him. Dan loved old English bull dogs especially Sugar, Ali and Gonz0, farming, being outdoors and was the owner of Starline Pasture Clearing. He was an avid deer hunter and was out in the timber any chance he got, but his true passion in life was his family.
Dan was a good man. His family measures this by his actions. He always stepped up to the plate; Dan got it done for everyone, even if not the most convenient for himself. Dan loved spending time with his family. The family excursions and road trips were cherished. All three boys would anxiously await Dan getting home to do their workout nights. The boys each enjoyed different hobbies and activities with their dad too. Mason and Dan enjoyed playing football and hunting together. Zane loved tinkering with tools right alongside Dan. Abram and Dan bonded every morning during their special time. Sunday fun day was a weekly event that created valuable memories including nature walks, road trips around southern Iowa, and other adventures. The bonds created between father and son are special and everlasting memories that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his wife, Megan Edwards; and sons, Mason, Zane and Abram of Truro; parents, Gary and Diane Edwards of New Virginia; brother, Matt and Jaci Edwards and son, Vetter of San Diego, Calif; sister Sharron Edwards of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandparents, rosemary Edwards of Danville, Bruce and Pearl Riordan of Correctionville; parents-in-law, Ken and Lois Stanley of St. Charles; sister-in-law, Brooke and Josh Maxwell and daughters, Elyse and Serene of Des Moines; brother-in-law, Shane Stanley of St. Charles; Megan’s grandparents, Joan Stanley of Osceola, Barb and Jess Mullins of Arkansas, Gene and Doris Harvey of St. Charles; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Doug Helton officiating. Interment in Jamison Cemetery followed.
