Kathryn A. Farlow died peacefully on April 22, 2018 at West Bridge Care and Rehab in Winterset with her loving family by her side.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2018 at West Bridge Chapel, West Bridge Care and Rehab in Winterset.

Burial of the cremated remains will take place later this year.

Kathryn Alzina Gordon was born October 30, 1922 to Willard A. Gordon and Amanda (Tennyson) Gordon in the front bedroom of the old Silliman house at 318 East Buchanan in Winterset. She was raised and educated in Winterset. Her marriage to Bill McKeever produced a daughter, Martha Kay, but ended in divorce. She married Billy Wayne Farlow and they had a son, Franklin Wayne.

Kathryn was a wonderful mother, seamstress, and a loyal and devoted wife for many years. She belonged to St. Paul Lutheran Church and was one of the founding members of the Comforters quilting group there. She was a support for her family, a caregiver to many, and a friend to all. She was an active member of the Genealogical Society and contributed much of her time and talents to the group.

She became a member of the West Bridge family in October of 2009 and it became her “home” until her death. She participated in the activities until she no longer do so… She was a kind and generous woman and enjoyed visits from family and friends.

Kathryn leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Martha (Tom) Knapp and Frank Farlow; grandchildren, Katy Dorn, Ashley Burke (Trey Grant), Brandi (Andy) Gochanour-Smith, and Garrett Farlow; step-grandchildren, Hope Schiavello and Jay (Andrea) Knapp; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Christopher and Chase Dorn, Hally and Rorey Smith, and Parker Griffin; step great-grandchildren, Crystal, Garrett and Joey Schiavello, and Samantha Knapp; and five step great-great-grandchildren, Brook J. Parker Bonner and Emma Bonner, Tristen and Penny Slayton, and Joseph Steven Schiavello V.

She was predeceased by both husbands and her parents.
