Doris Jean Bailey, 90, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Legacy Village in Waukee. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8, in the Community Center at Legacy Pointe. Private inurnment will be at Waukee Cemetery at a later date.

Doris was born January 15, 1928, in Winterset, Iowa, to Emery and Lolah (Goodridge) Shearer. She married George Bailey on December 30, 1951. They lived and farmed in Winterset most their married life. Doris loved to garden, bake and listen to WHO Radio.

Doris is survived by her sister, Vivian Smith of Waukee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Dean Shearer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Suncrest Hospice.
