Forrest H. Beard, 67, of Indianola died of a respiratory ailment Friday at Indianola Good Samaritan Center, where he was a resident the past month. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Overton Funeral Home.

Mr. Beard was born in Winterset and lived in Indianola 50 years. He retired as a driver for Rock Island Motor and had been the owner of Beard Transfer in Indianola.

He is survived by four daughters, Janet Meyer of Des Moines, Terri Swan of Windsor Heights, and Cheryl Vickroy and Rhonda Hypes, both of Indianola; a son, Monty of Indianola; a brother Jerry of Indianola; four sisters, Darlene Beard, Wanda Johnston and RaeAnn Hitchcock, all of Winterset, and Jackie Wickett of Indianola; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
