George William Starr was born in Winterset, Nov. 29, 1867, where he spent the early part of his life. On May 22, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Harapot, residing in Winterset until 1898, when he moved to Cedar Rapids where he continued to live until the day of his death, March 24. His wife died Jan. 23, 1913.

To this union was born seven children all living, Mrs. Margaret Brenneman, Richard, George, Carl, Ethel, Ruth and Donald and three grandchildren, Evelyn and Richard Starr, Jr., and Geraldine Brenneman.

Mr. Starr was employed at the Rock Island shops for many years, discontinuing work there because of failing health. In recent years he has been employed at C. W. Servison’s cigar store. His last illness was of only a few days duration.------Contributed.
