Funeral services for Mrs. Fay V. Ferguson were held Tues. p.m. July 12, 1966 at the Evans-Hansen funeral home with the Rev. George Thurman, pastor of the Congregational Church in Stuart, officiating. Mrs. Collis Smith was organist. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery at Casey. Casket bearers were Vernon Joint, Eddie Dunbar, Dale Kirkpatrick, Arthur Kading, Arlo Van Scoy and George Spain.

Fay Vivian, daughter of William and Emma Gabbert Conway, was born Aug. 1, 1889 in Madison County, and passed away Sun. morning, July 10, 1966 at Valley View rest home in Des Moines at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 9 days.

The family moved to Adair county where she attended the rural schools. She was a graduate of New Samaritan Hospital in Sioux City and worked as a registered nurse.

She was united in marriage to Samuel T. Ferguson Oct. 6, 1926 in Denver, Colo. The couple lived in Rapid City, So. Dak. for a number of years. After his death in 1947 she moved back to the Casey vicinity and was employed as a R.N.

She had been a resident of the Valley View nursing home for the past 3 years and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and American Legion Auxiliary at Rapid City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Minnie and two brothers, Ernest and Frank Conway. Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Boots of Des Moines and Mrs. Dick (Lois) Walters, of Lenox, Ia.
