Page 4, Column 4Elsie Blanche Hunerdosse, the daughter of Lex and Gladys Noel Raber, was born January 9, 1918 in Madison County, Iowa. She received her education in the country schools near her childhood home and then lived in Des Moines where she worked until her marriage.
Elsie married Glenn F. Hunerdosse June 9, 1946 and shortly thereafter the couple moved to Guthrie Center to make their home.
Elsie was a “giver” and home was where she was happiest. She was active not only as a wife and mother, but with her various civic activities, including the United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Woman’s Club. Her hobbies included her bridge club, sewing and baking.
She died Thursday, April 4, 1991 at the Hillside Care Center in Des Moines where she most recently made her home at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn in 1973, her parents, one brother and one sister.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Rick Jennings of Carlisle; her sons, Gary Hunerdosse of Cedar Rapids and Steve and his wife Sandy Hunerdosse of Jefferson; seven grandchildren; six sisters, Frances Bridges of Melbourne, Bonnie Songer of Winterset, Louise Anderson of Blue Springs, MO., and Betty Golightly, Geneva Partridge, and Marilyn Hildebrand, all of Des Moines; and two brothers, Howard Raber and Dan Raber, both of Winterset.
Funeral services were Monday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Guthrie center, with Rev. R. D. Streeter officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery.
