Stuart Herald—Malinda Obedience Liggett, daughter of James and Hanna Liggett, was born April 8, 1858 in Henry county, Illinois, and after an illness of only a few hours passed away February 28, 1936, at her home in Stuart, Iowa, aged 77 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was the last of a family of eight children to pass away.

On September 6, 1881, she was united in marriage to Madison Jacob Little. Immediately after their marriage they came to this state and moved to a farm near Penn Center, Madison county. She resided in Iowa the remainder of her life with the exception of two and a half years.

To this union were born eleven children, seven boys and three girls: Arthur, Cora (Mrs. Arthur Hanson), Webster, S. D.; Dora, Morgan, Howard, Clarke, Irene (Mrs. Ed Hanson) Stuart, Iowa, Emma, (Mrs. John Ingraf), Oxnard, California, Jacob, Omer and Robert. Of these four preceded her in death: Dora, Morgan, Robert and Clarke.

Last September 6, Mr. and Mrs. Little passed their 54th wedding anniversary.

She leaves to mourn her husband, four sons and three daughters, one adopted son, William Hildebrand, sixteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held March 2nd in the Buckley and Bufkin Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Roy E. Gugeler. She was laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery.
