Mildred Theresa Walters

Mildred Theresa Walters, daughter of Paul Deer and Gladys Grace (Scovel) Deer was born April 9, 1932 in Polk City, Iowa and passed from this life Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at 85 years of age.

Mildred graduated from Van Meter High School 1950. She was united in marriage to Samuel Wayne Walters on June 17, 1950 at Van Meter, IA and three children blessed this union.

Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She attended all the functions of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her garden and was a member of the New Virginia Garden Club. She was a member of the St. Charles Parish Church Women's group where she attended. Mildred and Sam enjoyed square dancing. They loved to travel and spent many winters in Texas. She loved her family and they were her main priority, she will be greatly missed.

Those relatives who preceded Mildred in death were her father, Paul Deer, mother, Gladys Grace McNair, sisters and brothers, Anna, Norbert, Agnes, George, Marvin, and Verner.

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Sam Walters of New Virginia, IA, daughter, Debra (Ed) Miller of Ottumwa, IA, son, Charlie (Mona) Walters of New Virginia, IA, son, Matt (Dorenda) Walters of Desoto, IA. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Eric (Anna) Miller and Julian of Oskaloosa, IA, Casey (Jennifer) Walters and Levi Grace of Redfield, IA and Clayton (Monica) Walters of Cedar Rapids, IA. She is survived by sisters, Helen Ballard of New Virginia, IA and Grace Reed of Van meter, IA as well as many other relatives and friends.
