Milton Sheridan Goff, son of John B. and Florence G. Goff was born July 26, 1865 in Madison county, Iowa, and departed this life in Dexter, Iowa, July 20, 1930 at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 24 days.

When 7 years of age he went with the parents to Cass county, Atlantic, where they resided until he was 16 years old. His parents next moved to a farm six miles south of Guthrie Center, where he grew to manhood. On February 25, 1890 he was united in marriage to Miss Lura Jordan and to this union were born eleven children: Mrs. Leora Wilson of Dexter, Iowa; Emery Merle, Wayne S. of Pasadena, California; Geo. L., deceased; Jenings B., of Dexter; Rolla J., of New York City; Mrs. Ruby B. Blockey of Field Beach, California; Willis W. of Kansas City, Missouri; Perry A. of New York City; Clarence Z. of Omaha, Nebraska; Vernon Cleon, deceased.

With the exception of four years residence in Nebraska and two years in Minnesota Mr. Goff’s entire life was spent in Iowa. For many years he lived on a farm near Guthrie Center, leaving the farm in 1919, he with his family moved to Guthrie Center, where he resided until 1924 when they moved to Dexter which has been his home up until the time of his death.

For twenty-seven years Mr. Goff was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge, his lodge connections being at Guthrie Center. He leaves to mourn: his wife, nine children, eleven great grandchildren, an aged mother, Mrs. Florence Goff and a brother Ed both of Miles City, Montana and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted at Dexter Tuesday afternoon and the remains were brought to Guthrie Center and place in Union cemetery. Guthrie lodge, I.O.O.F. had charge of the services at the grave.
