Page 7, Column 5Josiah H. Sherman, aged 72, a member of the Soldiers’ Home, died at the hospital Thursday night at 8:30 o’clock of paralysis and Bright’s disease. Mr. Sherman was born in Sullivan, Ind., in 1832, and was admitted to the Home on June 1, 1904, from Storm Lake. He enlisted at Indianapolis, Ind., Aug. 6, 1862, and served as captain of Company A, Eighty-fifth Indiana volunteer infantry. He was discharged at Washington on June 12, 1865, at the close of the war.
Mr. Sherman leaves a wife, one son and one daughter. The wife, Mrs. Elizabeth J. Sherman, is at present ill in the hospital at the Home. The son, William A. Sherman, and the daughter, Mrs. Nora A. Egy, reside at Storm Lake. Mr. Egy arrived in the city this morning, and will accompany the body to Storm Lake Saturday morning. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at Storm Lake.
